Localized alopecic myxedema of the scalp

چکیده

Myxedema is a rare, cutaneous complication of autoimmune thyroid diseases that most often affects the anterior shins. Herein, we report patient with history Graves disease and Hashimoto thyroiditis who presented boggy, alopecic patches associated scalp pruritus. Punch biopsies from these lesions showed increased interstitial mucin in reticular dermis, consistent localized myxedema. This showcases rare presentation myxedema scalp, highlighting diverse manifestations diseases.
